Born in Lisbon on 4 July 1948, the artist holds a Degree in Medicine from “Universidade Nova de Lisboa” and is an Ophthalmologist. They also studied Design and Painting at the Institute of Arts and Crafts of the University A. of Lisbon (UAL) under Prof. José Mouga from 2009 to 2015. Their exhibition history includes group shows at the UAL Gallery in 2011 and 2012, a solo show at the Portuguese Society of Ophthalmology in 2012, and various exhibitions in 2013 and 2014, including the Municipal Gallery of Torres Vedras and Trindade Theatre of Lisbon. In 2015, they participated in multiple exhibitions, including a solo show at the NH Hotel Campo Grande in Lisbon and the Affordable Art Fair in Brussels. Their work continued to gain recognition in 2016 with exhibitions at the International Contemporary Art Fair DONOSTIARTEAN and the Affordable Art Fair in Amsterdam. In 2017, they showcased their work in Berlin and had another solo exhibition at the Portuguese Society of Ophthalmology in Lisbon. The artist’s painting explores EMOTION and THOUGHT, drawing from MEMORIES, DREAMS, and EVOCATIONS. Their work reflects the quest to understand reality and identity through the fragments of overlapping memories that shape life.
