On the leisure station Eros, naval commander Honor Harrington's uncle has gone missing under very mysterious circumstances. In the absence of actual shore leave, it's up to Honor and her crewmen, officers Horace Harkness and Scotty Tremaine, with the help of her pet Treecat, Nimitz, to infiltrate Eros and uncover a mystery of galactic proportions!
