Más información sobre el libro

Under extremely difficult personal circumstaces, Wolfs (1913-1951) used concepts of Surrealism, together with naive art, to develop new forms of expression within non-representational art. Expressing himself in art, graphics and photography, his work also reflects his musical and literary talents. Moholy-Nagy urged him to go to Paris, where he met Fernand Léger, Hans Arp, Giacometti, Sartre and Tristan Tzara; he also had a great affinities with Henri Michaux and Michel Tapié. Over 30 paintings presented in this book make up a third of his painterly oeuvre and an additional 150 drawings and aquarelles document the evolution of his life's work. This selection. largerly derived from private collections, conveys the essence and significance of his extraordinarily original artistic achievement.
