Más información sobre el libro
"In 1764, Johannes Herbergs, who had come to Ronsdorf from Waldniel on the Lower Rhine, and Peter Heinrich Strepers, a native of Kaldenkirchen, embarked on a journey to Pennsylvania in order to recover the overseas inheritance of their grandfather which had come into other hands. This was a property of 5,000 acres which Jan Strepers, merchant and inn keeper at Kaldenkirchen, had bought on March 10, 1682, from the Rotterdam merchant Benjamin Furley, a representative of the Proprietor of the province of Pennsylvania William Penn, for the sum of £100 Sterling. Meticulous businessman that he was, Johannes Herbergs painstakingly noted down all of the preparations for and the course of the journey, all income and expenses as well as the legal disputes with the new owners of Strepers' properties in his journal."--Introduction.
