Más información sobre el libro

Pavel Pavel is one of the few Czechs whose name has made it around the world and whose work still provokes substantial interest. His longing to learn more about ancient civilisations, and in particular about the monuments these civilisations left behind, led him to the extraordinary hobby of experimental archaeology. In particular, Pavel was drawn to the many secrets of Easter Island (Rapa Nui) which is most famous for its giant moai statues. Pavel focused on the problem of transporting the statues using primitive methods. He was a member of the expedition led by the legendary Norwegian explorer and ethnographer, Thor Heyerdahl. Pavel wrote his bookdiary about his journey to this far away land and the book was first published in 1988. Since then Pavel has developed and worked on his theories throwing hinself into attempts to explain further mysteries, amongst them, the mystery of how stones forming the primeval sanctuary of Stonehenge were erected. Pavel travelled to South America to Lake Titicaca and visited the Canaries to meet Thor Heyerdahl, who was carrying some important archaeological research. Pavel describes his journeys in the extended edition of his book Rapa Nui.
