Más información sobre el libro
Focusing on the evolution of the LGBT community in the US, Zein Murib explores how identity-based social and political movements emerged through strategic "rightful citizenship claims." The book highlights how these claims prioritized the recognition of white, gender-normative, monogamously partnered individuals, often sidelining other community members. Murib argues that this within-group marginalization is a deliberate discursive strategy, not merely a byproduct of political expediency, aimed at gaining acceptance from lawmakers and society.
