First published in 1958, the book is a story of magnificent individuals, daring deeds, conquests and failures. The land, the people and their common destiny are captured in the author's personal spirit and words. Dr. Large bequeathed his writings to the Museum of Northern British Columbia, which prepared this edition, incorporating many photographs from the Wrathall Collection that document the Skeena River area from 1908 to 1960.
