Second of a two-volume work. Bhakti-Rasāmṛta-Sindhu (literally "The Ocean of Nectar of Divine Love") can be considered to be one of the most important books in Gaudiya Vaishnavism. It elaborately describes gradations of bhakti from its lowest stage of sraddha (faith) up to its highest stage of maha-bhava (ultimate ecstasy in love of Godhead). Bhakti, love of God, devotional service. Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu is one of the major works of Srīla Rupa Gosvāmī, and a mainstay of the Gaudīya Vaiṣṇava sampradāya. This second volume contains the definition of the principal Bhakti-rasas: Santa-bhakti-rasa, Prīti-bhakti-rasa (Dāsya-rasa), Preyo-bhakti-rasa (Sakhya-rasa), Vatsala-bhakti-rasa, Madhura-bhakti-rasa, Hāsya-bhakti-rasa, Adbhuta-bhakti-rasa, Vīra-bhakti-rasa, Karuṇa-bhakti-rasa, Raudra-bhakti-rasa, Bhayānaka-bhakti-rasa, Bībhatsa-bhakti-rasa, Friendly and Inimical rasas and Rasābhāsa.
