The artistic oeuvre of Jiři Prihoda from the 1980s has yet to be systematically mapped, even though it represents precisely the period when the author first articulated his underlying artistic stances, later developed as part of his internationally recognized artistic output. A significant role in this stage was played by his time in the Vysočina region, where Prihoda from his birth until the end of the 1980s spent most of his free time in the countryside with his grandparents. And it was here that he created the body of work where he linked his classical drawing knowledge, acquired at the Václav Hollar Secondary Professional School of Art in Prague (informally known as "Hollarka"), with an intuitive search for form and expression. The landscape near the villages of Lovetin, Roštejn and Růžená became for him a space of experiment: first through drawings and prints, later through conceptually shaped terrain interventions, which are now understood as a significant contribution to the Czech version of land art...
