Fotografická biografie Félixe Tournachona alias Nadara (1820–1910) se objevila kolem roku 1900, když autorovi bylo 80 let. Je to série vyprávění, v nichž tento slavný fotograf, romanopisec, karikaturista a aviatik zachytil svůj neobyčejný život – první aerostatické fotografie pořízené z balonu nebo prozkoumávání pařížského podzemí, zkazky o osobnostech, které fotografoval, a o umělcích, s nimiž se setkával. Jeho živý a humorný styl, připomínající sloh bulvární žurnalistiky, upomíná na dobu, kdy sám Nadar přispíval do časopisů Charivari a Revue comique.
