    • Die berühmte Komponistin, Filmemacherin und Fluxus-Künstlerin Yoko Ono, geboren 1933 in Tokio, machte Anfang der 60er Jahre mit zahlreichen Aktionen und Performances auf sich aufmerksam. Ono arbeitete auch konzeptionell: 1962 stellte sie in Tokio erstmals nicht ihre Leinwände, sondern ausschließlich ihre Instructions for paintings aus: Anleitungen zum Umgang mit ihren Gemälden, die z. B. den Betrachter zum Übermalen oder Drauftreten auffordern. 2007 wurde Yoko Ono in New York mit dem Artist Award for a Distinguished Body of Work ausgezeichnet für ihre Ausstellung Window for Germany in der Kunsthalle Bremen, zu der dieser Katalog erschienen ist. Der Preis wird an Künstler nationalen oder internationalen Ranges vergeben, die sich durch eine außergewöhnliche Arbeit im Bereich Ausstellung, Präsentation oder Performance ausgezeichnet haben.
