“Das Tor ins Leben” is the debut work by Grit Scholz, inspiring the creation of LebensGut Verlag. This book presents two versions that highlight the uniqueness of every woman’s yoni (vulva), celebrating diversity rather than adhering to a standard. Aimed at women, it seeks to enlighten and encourage by addressing a body part that has long been considered taboo, showcasing the beauty and variety of female genitals. Scholz photographed 65 women aged 18 to 75, capturing images that emphasize the diverse shapes and colors of the yoni without a sexual context, drawing inspiration from nature. Many of the women, including Scholz, have grappled with their femininity, shame, and insecurities. Through shared experiences, they have fostered a loving relationship with their yonis and wish to convey their journey of inner healing to others. This aims to cultivate respect and reverence for female sexual organs. The book also explores the language surrounding female genitalia, noting that many women feel uncomfortable with existing terms that carry negative connotations. Some have even coined their own words. Scholz prefers "yoni," a term with sacred roots, to remind readers of the reverence owed to the female form.
