The album presents a complete collection of photographs by Florian Zapletal, made by the Czech researcher in 1919–1925 in the towns and villages of Transcarpathia, when the region was part of Czechoslovakia. Zapletal knew and loved this Carpathian land, to which he dedicated many articles and various publications and which he zealously photographed. In addition to wooden churches, which were dedicated to the previous edition, his lens captured the appearance of our towns and villages, castles and brick churches, peasants and village houses, outbuildings and covered bridges - all the diverse ethnographic wealth of old Transcarpathia, which is now almost completely lost. Photos for the album were provided by a student and friend of Zapletal, the heir of his archive, academician professor Mykola Mushynka (Presov, Slovakia). He is also the author of an introductory article on the public activities of a Czech researcher. The book contains texts in Ukrainian and Czech, as well as a summary in English. Captions to photos and alphabetical index of settlements are in all three languages. 176 pages, black and white.
