The Czech Avant-Garde Literary Movement Between the Two World Wars tells the little-known story of the renaissance of Czech literary arts in the period between the two world wars. In his analyses of the writings of this period, Thomas G. Winner illuminates the aesthetic and linguistic characteristics of these works and shows how poetry and linguistics can be combined.

Thomas Gwinner studierte Sinologie und Ostasiatische Kunstgeschichte in Heidelberg, Shanghai und Taipei. Darüberhinaus absolvierte er eine Ausbildung als Verlagskaufmann. Nach seinem Studium war er fünfzehn Jahre in mehreren Führungspositionen bedeutender internationaler Unternehmen tätig. Seit 2003 ist er Professor am Department of Hospitality Management und Language Center der Chien Hsin University of Science and Technology in Zhongli, Taiwan. Neben zahlreichen wissenschaftlichen Monographien und Artikeln veröffentlichte Thomas Gwinner Kochbücher und Gedichtsammlungen.
