Die Vía de la Plata (der Name kommt nicht von „plata“ = Silber, sondern wahrscheinlich von dem arabischen Wort "Bal'latta" für eine breite oder gepflasterte Straße) ist seit über zwei Jahrtausenden eine der Hauptverbindungen zwischen Nord- und Süd-Spanien.
