Focusing on the syntactic features of Afro-Bolivian Spanish, this study by Sandro Sessarego explores the unique determiner phrases that distinguish this Afro-Hispanic dialect from standard Spanish. It highlights the grammatical constructions that, while deemed ungrammatical in standard usage, are foundational to the effective syntactic systems of Afro-Bolivian Spanish. This examination of contact varieties is significant for advancing theories of syntactic microvariation, showcasing the rich linguistic diversity within Latin America.
