Olga Junterová se narodila v létě roku 1900 ve vzdálené obchodní stanici obklopené nehostinnou stepí jižní Sibiře… Jako nejmladší z pěti dětí prožívala šťastné dětství, ale brzy se na ulicích ozvala vřava povstání a Olga, stále ještě školačka, byla vtažena do chaosu ruské revoluce když pomáhala svým bratrům v zoufalém boji nejprve při ochraně města před bolševiky a pak proti brutálnímu regionálnímu veliteli bělogvardějců.
