In 2013, the European architecture photography prize, “architekturbild”, which has been held on a new subject every two years since 1995, will be awarded for the tenth time. The current motto “Focus of Attention” puts the emphasis on an important composition principle of photography, namely the focus on a certain detail. The photos focus not only visually, but also thematically on a subject that was also at the centre of public interest, whether a political, cultural or historical event. A host of international photographers submitted their work – certainly something to look forward to!

This 1998 Deutsches Architektur Museum annual offers an insider's view into what world-renowned architects abroad are building in Germany, and what German architecture, in turn, are offering the world. It features essays on various topics of international interest, as well as photographs and descriptions documenting outstanding current building projects. These range from movie theatres to museums, with a special focus on renovation and reconstruction.
