      Esta anécdota comienza de noche, en la soledad de una habitación. La puerta del armario está entreabierta y hay un niño que la observa con temor, porque sabe que allí adentro se esconde una temible pesadilla. Por eso, el niño siempre cierra la puerta antes de irse a dormir. El miedo del protagonista no sólo está puesto en palabras; las enormes ilustraciones, características del cuaderno nos permiten descubrir movimientos, miradas y gestos. Así, podemos ver el rostro semioculto del pequeño, asomado por una esquina de la frazada bajo la cual se siente más seguro; el ademán con el que implora silencio; sus pasos en punta de pie para no hacer ruido; sus ojos temerosos y atentos. Sin embargo, una noche, el hombrecito decide librarse de aquella pesadilla para siempre. Esta no será tarea sencilla, ya que el detalle concreto de estas apariciones resulta ser un monstruo cariñoso y muy llorón. La historia se complicará; pero como nada es lo que parece, un tierno y sorprendente final seguramente despertará sonrisas en los lectores.
