Sama hlavní postava, neustále ohromená Alenka v bezděčných reakcích na imaginativní svět plný podivuhodných věcí a událostí, Carrollův um logicky svázat absurdum světa v celé šíři a líčená přirozenost i znalost dětského chování, zaručili dílu světové uznání a přerod v klasiku.
