Již jako děti jsme se seznámili s jeho Malým princem, později se Zemí lidí, Kurýrem na jih, a zejména s jeho posledním, hluboce filosofickým dílem, které vyšlo až po autorově smrti, s Citadelou. Soubor Slova jako hvězdy přináší výběr těch nejkrásnějších myšlenek z pera tohoto letce, básníka a velikého humanisty. Nová planeta, na níž Malý princ s Liškou přistáli, je plná kovového šrotu. Není divu, její obyvatelé jsou vynálezci a neustále něco sestrojují. Ne vždy úspěšně, takže mají velký odpad a systém recyklace a sběru odpadků nefunguje. K tomu se na zdejším moři dělají stále větší vlny, které ohrožují obyvatelstvo. Může za ně polykač, nejnovější stroj Velkého vynálezce, který se zcela vymkl kontrole a brázdí nazdařbůh oceán. A Velký vynálezce nikde. Podaří se Malému princi, Lišce a jejich novým přátelům situaci vyřešit včas?

Tak tahle planeta je opravdu hodně zvláštní! Celá vlastně představuje jedno obří živoucí tělo a každý jeho orgán pohání sama příroda. Jenomže Talamus, který je doslova „mozkem“ celé planety, od jisté doby nevnímá signály z přírody, a vydává jeden bláznivější příkaz za druhým. Celá planeta je kvůli němu v ohrožení. Co je hlavní činností na Planetě knihomolů, napovídá už sám její název. Zdejší obyvatelé jsou vášnivými čtenáři, ba co víc, knihy jsou pro ně životně důležité. Jenomže od jisté doby řádí na planetě zloděj knih, záhadný harmonikář, který svou melodií doslova vytrhává knihy lidem z ruky. Obří knihovna, kde bylo možné si knihy půjčovat, se navíc pomalu propadá do země a její správce nechce nikoho pustit dovnitř. Obyvatelé planety strádají. Jak se zdá, na Malého prince a Lišku čeká zase perná práce.
