Die Indian Lexicography des Bonner Indologen Claus Vogel (1933-2012), ein literaturgeschichtlicher Überblick über die einheimische indische Lexikographie des Sanskrit, erschien 1979 in der History of Indian Literature und blieb seither das unübertroffene Standardwerk zum Thema. Der Autor, der über längere Zeiträume Ergänzungen, Nachträge und Korrekturen gesammelt hatte, wollte diese ursprünglich in einer Fachzeitschrift veröffentlichen, ging aber auf das Angebot des Herausgeber der Indologica Marpurgensia, diese in eine revidierte Auflage (die erste war inzwischen vergriffen) einzuarbeiten, bereitwillig ein.
