Nachdem er den Dämonenkönig Kleiman besiegt hat, wird Rimuru von den anderen Dämonenkönigen in ihren Kreis aufgenommen und einer der acht Dämonenkönige des Oktagramms. Als die Westliche Heilige Kirche davon hört, fürchtet sie, dass der Schleim sich jetzt an ihnen rächen wird. Schließlich hat die Anführerin der Heiligen Ritter, Hinata Sakaguchi, es gewagt, ihn anzugreifen.

Satoru Mikami wurde ermordet. Aber statt im Jenseits zu landen, wird er in einer anderen Welt als Schleim wiedergeboren. Als Lehrer der S-Klasse beschließt er, Shizus ehemalige Schüler mithilfe von Elementargeistern zu retten. Allerdings sind nicht nur die Kids absolute Rotzlöffel, sondern auch die Herrin der Elementargeister. Der Schleim notiert all seine Sorgen in seinem ständigen Begleiter, seinem Tagebuch.

Auf dem Walpurgis entlarvt Rimuru die Kabale von Kleiman und tötet ihn. Doch anstatt zu sterben, gelangt Kleiman durch eine Zeitschleife 70 Jahre in die Vergangenheit. Was ihm die Möglichkeit verschafft, all seine vorherigen Fehler wiedergutzumachen. Oder auch nicht.

Was treiben die Bewohner der anderen Welt eigentlich, wenn sie gerade nicht in die Geschichte von Rimuru involviert sind? In fünf Kurzgeschichten erfahren wir, wie Caligurio über seine Vergangenheit reflektiert, Mjolmile sein Netzwerk ausbaut, Velgrynd in anderen Welten nach Ludras Seelensplittern sucht und Rain ihr Leben als Magd in den Diensten von Guy erlebt.

Dämonenkönig Kleiman hat den Entschluss gefasst, die Zeitschleife dazu zu nutzen, einen anderen Weg als zuvor einzuschlagen, an dessen Ende hoffentlich nicht sein Tod durch einen Schleim steht. So kümmert er sich eingehender um seine zuvor ignorierte Gefolgschaft und versucht Begegnungen, die nicht gut für ihn endeten, zu einem Besseren zu wenden.

Im Krieg gegen die Engel unter dem Phantomkönig Feldway und dem Manas Michael haben die Dämonenkönige um Rimuru einen Plan geschmiedet, wie sie deren Angriff abwehren wollen. Aber was können sie diesem schier übermächtigen Gegner entgegensetzen?

Die Dämonenkönige des Oktagramms versammeln sich zum Walpurgis. Die Invasion des Östlichen Kaiserreiches konnte zwar abgewehrt werden, aber den Drahtziehern gelang die Flucht. So ist es nur noch eine Frage der Zeit, bis Phantomkönig Feldway und Manas Michael die Welt erneut mit Krieg überziehen werden, und dafür gilt es vorbereitet zu sein.

Kleiman und seine Untergebenen sind in das Land Orbig aufgebrochen. Dort wollen sie ein Tor zur Anderwelt verschließen, um zu verhindern, dass Insektenbestien eindringen und alles verwüsten, denn das könnte weitreichende Konsequenzen nach sich ziehen …

In ebenjener befinden sich die Kinder, um die Shizu sich vor ihrem Tod gekümmert hat, und die sind ganz schöne Rotznasen. Der Schleim schreibt all die Sorgen, die er ihretwegen hat, in seinen treuen Begleiter, sein Tagebuch.

Nach einer Menge Arbeit ist es Flamea gelungen, den ersten Band des Tempest-Reiseführers fertigzustellen, doch wie soll er nun unter die Leute gebracht werden? Der gewitzte Mjolmile hat eine Idee: ein Turnier der besonders süßen Art!

Das Hasenmensch-Mädchen Flamea hat sich langsam im Land der Dämonen eingelebt, doch das heißt noch lange nicht, dass es schon alles kennt, was es zu bieten hat. Diesmal erkundet sie nicht nur die heißen Bäder von Tempest, sondern darf auch hautnah miterleben, mit was für einer explosiven Mischung aus Talent und Emotionen die Schmiede des Landes ihrer Arbeit nachgehen.

Flameas Recherche für ihren Reiseführer läuft hervorragend, aber leider droht ihr das Geld auszugehen. Der Dämonenkönig Rimuru hat jedoch eine Lösung für sie: eine Karte, mit der sie alles bezahlen kann! Zuerst will das Hasenmädchen sie nicht wirklich nutzen, doch als Flamea die neuen Süßigkeiten von Herrn Yoshida sieht, stirbt jegliche Form der Zurückhaltung. Wo wird sie ihr Shoppingrausch wohl hinführen?

Auf Empfehlung von Rimuru schreibt sich Flamea als Schülerin an der Schule für technologische Bildung in Tempest ein. Dort schaut sie sich alle möglichen Kurse an, doch als sie den Bildhauerkurs ausprobiert, passiert etwas Schreckliches. Eine wertvolle Statue von Rimuru wird gestohlen. Der Dämonenkönig Lamrys übernimmt den Fall sofort und macht sich daran, den Täter zu finden.

Die Gründungsfeier von Tempest steht bevor und die Vorfreude ist groß. Die ersten Gäste treffen bereits ein und werden in Empfang genommen. Doch sind noch einige letzte Dinge zu klären …
