Fernando Botero wurde 1932 in Medellín, Kolumbien, geboren. Sein Werk wurde in Retrospektiven auf der ganzen Welt geehrt. Er lebt und arbeitet abwechselnd in Paris, New York, Pietrasanta (Italien) und Bogotá. Carlos Fuentes, geboren 1928 in Mexiko City, ist einer der bekanntesten Schriftsteller Lateinamerikas.
