Julius Wellhausen

The narrative explores the customs surrounding offerings dedicated to deities, highlighting the practice of sharing sacred feasts where priests could partake. It emphasizes the lack of legal entitlements for priests to specific portions of offerings. The mention of Eli's sons illustrates a moral decline, as they disregard both divine authority and the responsibilities of the priesthood, reflecting themes of corruption and neglect within religious practices.
