Die pipreks saga af Bern ist eine altnorwegische Saga über Dietrich von Bern und seine zwölf Kämpen. In der Arbeit werden die kontextuellen Bezüge der pipreks saga zu den altnorwegischen 'überSetzten Riddarasögur' und verwandten Texten aus der Mitte des 13. Jahrhunderts analysiert. Die pipreks saga läßt sich als ein Text im Kontext dieses altnorwegischen literarischen Milieus bestimmen, der im Spannungsfeld von 'Hanse und Hof' anzusiedeln ist.
