Ulises Carrión (1941, San Andrés Tuxtla, México-1989, Ámsterdam, Holanda), figura clave del arte conceptual mexicano, fue artista, editor, comisario de exposiciones y teórico de la vanguardia artística internacional posterior a la década de los años sesenta del siglo xx.Los textos de Guy Schraenen, Felipe Ehrenberg o João Fernandes, entre otros, ilustran todos los aspectos de su obra artística e desde su trayectoria inicial como joven escritor de éxito en México hasta sus numerosas actividades desarrolladas en Ámsterdam donde fue cofundador del espacio gestionado por artistas independientes In-Out Center, y fundador de la mítica librería-galería Other Books And So (1975-1979), la primera de su género dedicada a publicaciones de artista

As creative talents began to design record sleeves, the standard 30 x 30 cm album cover came to be an especially attractive object. Now vinyl has an almost mythic character and real historical value. 'Vinyl' is a detailed catalogue of the collection held by the Archive for Small Press and Communication in the Neues Museum Weserburg in Bremen, which includes not only records and CDs but also books, posters and other objects.

With the extension of artistic expression into the realm of sound and the creation of records and their sleeves, innovative works of great esthetic quality began to appear. This catalogue includes not only vinyls and CDs but also books, posters and otherobjects related to music and sound works

" "Out of Print" is an exhibition showing a representative cross-section from the "Archive for Small Press and Communication (ASPC)" compiled by the Belgian collector Guy Schraenen. An international selection of 800 items from about 35000 artists' books, mail art, posters, artists' magazines, multiples, records, videos etc. will be on display in Zurich. The ASPC was acquired by the Neues Museum Weserburg in Bremen in 1999, and forms the core of an artists' publications study centre there. The Zurich exhibition will also contain examples from the MfGZ Poster Collection. Artists' publications dating from the period between 1965 and 1978 show artists working vigorously on coming to terms with the social contexts of their day. "
