A love story set during World War II, it tells the tale of a young and courageous woman willing to sacrifice her personal happiness for justice and honor. The protagonist comes from an aristocratic family and is destined to inherit a vast fortune. However, she desires to experience a few normal years as a student, during which she joins a student resistance group of young anti-fascists. Her family loses their wealth in the war, but not their honor. The girl meets a young journalist and falls in love with him almost instantly, but the war complicates their budding romance significantly.
