The Whalebone Theatre

Set against the backdrop of 1928, the story follows twelve-year-old orphan Cristabel Seagrave, who transforms a whale carcass into a theatre, providing an escape from her mundane life. Alongside her siblings and a motley crew, she breathes life into her imagination. As World War II looms, Cristabel and her brother Digby take on perilous secret missions in Nazi-occupied France, blurring the lines between playacting and reality, and facing challenges that could fracture their family bonds.
