Islamic Leadership and the State in Eurasia

Focusing on the dynamics of Islamic leadership in post-Communist Eurasia, this study explores the interplay between official muftiship, non-official authorities, grassroots communities, and state power. Utilizing a historical approach, it contrasts these relationships with those found in the Middle East and Western Europe, providing a comprehensive understanding of how Islamic authority has evolved in different contexts.
