Focusing on the representation of Native Americans, this research paper investigates the myths and realities surrounding the American West in popular culture. It examines how attitudes and depictions have evolved from early literature to modern revisionist narratives, while assessing the persistence of certain myths and plot elements. The study includes an analysis of the mythicization of the American West in film, specifically through the lens of two Western genre films, "Stagecoach" (1939) and "The Homesman" (2014), to evaluate enduring conventions related to Native Americans.
