Catherine Lucille Moore, born in 1911 in Indianapolis, began her prolific storytelling career in 1930 with the pulp magazine Amazing Stories. Her first sale, "Shambleau," became an immediate success in Weird Tales. Throughout the 1930s, she contributed numerous stories to the magazine and later collaborated extensively with her husband, Henry Kuttner. The couple wrote under various pen names and eventually ventured into screenwriting.
