Más información sobre el libro
The book has the subtitle Memories, but it is not memoir literature in the true sense. In thirty-six chapters, the author seemingly arbitrarily selects fragments of experiences that his memory has preserved, and he has complemented or emphasized them in a certain way with a touch of his personal philosophy. All the characters he encounters, people of different ages and various intellectual or social levels, are perceived by him as possessing a certain exclusivity, originality, human dimension, and naturalness, which serve as the fundamental criterion for their evaluation. The unwritten, typically American story of a poor boy, this time of Armenian descent, who became famous also shines through the entire work.
