Más información sobre el libro

The essays in this collection stem from seven years of research conducted between 1990 and 1997, with most previously published in scientific journals or as book chapters. To enhance clarity and avoid repetition, the original texts have been modified, particularly in their titles and introductions. Chapter two features an article on the Argentine-Brazilian Free Trade Agreement, originally published in the Journal of Common Markets. Chapter three is based on an empirical study for UNIDO, with its analytical framework and preliminary conclusions appearing in a working paper on the MERCOSUR pattern of intra-industry trade. Chapter four was published as a chapter in a book focused on growth, trade, and integration in Latin America, discussing plant-size effects of trade in MERCOSUR countries. Chapter five corresponds to an article measuring the effects of economic integration for Southern Cone countries, published in The Developing Economies. Lastly, chapter six presents a revised and updated version of a paper initially presented at the First European Congress of Latinamericanists in Salamanca, Spain, in June 1996.
