This guide explores the stunning summer residence in Schwetzingen, which began as a 14th-century moated castle and was transformed into a Rococo masterpiece in the 18th century under Prince Elector Carl Theodor. Originally built as a castle, the structure underwent numerous changes until the early 18th century when Carl Theodor systematically expanded both the palace and its gardens.
