Austrian artist Peter Dressler has been instrumental in shaping Austrian photography since the 1970s as a photographer, Academy lecturer, collector, and critical participant in the art scene. This book was compiled as part of Dressler’s major retrospective at the Kunsthaus Wien from November 2016 to March 2017. The book encompasses his photographic oeuvre, from lesser known photographs of Vienna in the 1970s to his later existential and often also wonderfully witty performative series featuring the artist himself as actor and director.
