E-commerce and web technologies

We welcome you to the proceedings of the 5th International Conference on E-Commerce and Web Technology (EC-Web 2004), held alongside DEXA 2004 in Zaragoza, Spain. Established in 2000, this conference has become a significant platform for researchers and industry developers to discuss advancements in e-commerce and Web technology. Engaging discussions during formal sessions and social events led to the emergence of new ideas. Keynote addresses and research presentations facilitated the exchange of insights among participants. The conference received 103 paper submissions, each reviewed by three program committee members, leading to the selection of 37 high-quality papers for presentation and publication. We extend our gratitude to the program committee members and external reviewers for their diligent evaluations, as well as to the organizing committee for their administrative support. Special thanks go to Gabriela Wagner, Mirella Köster, and Birgit Hauer for their assistance with organizational tasks. Lastly, we appreciate all authors who submitted and presented papers, and the participants whose active contributions made this conference an intellectually enriching experience.
