Set on a secluded island near Istanbul, a community of artists seeks to reclaim their creative spirits at Portmantle. Among them is Elspeth 'Knell' Conroy, a once-renowned painter grappling with self-doubt after escaping the tumult of 1960s London. As she experiments with a mysterious pigment in her isolated studio, the arrival of a troubled teenager named Fullerton upends the sanctuary's dynamics. Haunted by a menacing nightmare, he draws Knell into a chilling mystery that challenges her perceptions and artistic journey.
