This proceedings volume features extended abstracts from the 18th Symposium on Operations Research at the University of Cologne, held from September 1-3, 1993. The symposium is part of the annual meetings of the Gesellschaft für Mathematik, Ökonometrie und Operations Research (GMOOR), which connects research with applications in applied mathematics, economics, and operations research. The event showcased around 250 talks, emphasizing optimization and stochastics, with a particular focus on combinatorial optimization and discrete mathematics.
