Proceedings on the 9th Teratology Symposium

Más información sobre el libro

This volume contains papers presented at the 9th Teratology Symposium held in Greifswald in 1995. These comprise a broad spectrum of work, from experimental teratology to behavioural teratology and on to clinical and applied research. We are given an overview of the developments in interdisciplinary researeh in recent years. In addition to the increasing number of special disciplines interested in teratology, the intensified focus on explaning causal relationships in teratogenesis is also evident. More importance is lent to the quality of the applied experimental material and its standard parameters. At the same time, the methodological palette bas been greatly enriched by the inclusion of effective histochemical and immunohistochemical methods, modern visualization procedures, and computer-supported reconstruction techniques. The symposium was dedicated to the prominent embryologist Karl Peter (1870-1955), whose chief research emphasis was on the causal genesis of the palate. Nose, and the corresponding malformations. Consequently, the topics covered by this book emphasize the skull and head.
