, To work in Africa is still a challenge for most scientists because there are important circumstances and attitudes of life to explore." The study envisaged deals mainly with an economic evaluation of a project caried out by the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA). The efficiency of the biological control agent Epidinocarsis lopezi against Phenacoccus manhotit was tested in field trials and measured in farmers' fields. Data of the IITA were incorporated in a continental analysis.
