Mental processes and narrative possiblities in the German novelle

Más información sobre el libro

Using a taxonomical approach, Turner (German literature, U. of Hull, retired) attempts to describe and classify the kinds of narratives made possible by writers' interest in the workings of the human mind. He examines the way models of the mind related to perception and memory led to narratives as formally diverse as Schnitzler's Sterben and Zweig's Buchmendel. He then demonstrates the variety of literary presentations reflecting the psychologizing of the German short narrative. Annotation ©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
