The book is published on the occasion of a solo show at KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin in summer 2006. Keren Cytter is an artist, filmmaker and writer who experiments with the way stories are told and scripts are performed. I was the good and he was the bad and the ugly is the title of an exhibition that brought together a selection of Cytter´s video works done between 200 and 2006. This book comrises four of those videos by featuring their screenplays. A conversation between Keren Cytter and the artist and writer Avi Pitchon reveals some of the personal and professional ambitions behind Cytter´s remarkably productive practice, and an essay by the acclaimed cultural critic Diedrich Diederichsen addresses its conceptual scope.
