The manual gives sound academic information and guidance in the face of the fast development and changes in mentally disabled aid over the last years. To this end all the practically and theoretically relevant key terms are addressed. At the same time the manual demonstrates the interdisciplinary character of this area. Thus the terms originate not only from the field of special education and rehabilitation, but also from psychiatry, medicine, psychology, sociology, social politics and social work.
