For over two decades, the Munich artist Victor Kraus (born 1954) has plumbed the possibilities of a type of painting that, on the one hand, consciously explores subjects and quality of classical modern art, yet at the same time, in dealing with its means with the greatest possible freedom, reflects the issues in the painterly discussion of the current era.
