This volume contains 10 full papers accepted for the Fourth Workshop on Membrane Computing and Biologically Inspired Process Calculi followed by four papers presented at the First Workshop on Applications of Membrane Computing, Concurrency, and Agent-based Modelling in Population Biology. Both events took place as satellite workshops of the Eleventh International Conference on Membrane Computing (CMC11) under the auspices of the Coimbra initiative in collaboration with the Jena Centre for Bioinformatics (JCB).
