This work applies Natural Phonetics & Tonetics to detail Russian pronunciation, including intonation, in an unprecedented manner. It introduces the Natural Phonotonetics Method, applicable to any language, overcoming the limitations of the official IPA. The book comprehensively describes and transcribes Russian vowels, consonants, structures, and intonation, featuring examples from words, sentences, and longer texts, alongside an intonationally integrated IPA sample passage from ‘The North Wind and the Sun’. Various types of Russian pronunciation are thoroughly explored, including international, neutral, traditional, and mediatic, supported by clear phonic maps. Additionally, it covers 22 regional accents from across Russia, extending to 13 accents from post-Soviet nations. Other sections discuss foreign accents of Russian and provide 26 concise language phonopses along with all orograms for easier comparison. A mini-phono-dictionary with over 3000 entries, primarily names, is also included. This comprehensive resource is authored by experts from the University of Venice and the European Economic and Social Committee.
