National infrastructures for radiation safety

This publication contains the proceedings of an international conference on radiation safety, held in Rabat, Morocco in September 2003, and organised by the International Atomic Energy Agency in co-operation with the World Health Organization, the International Labour Office, the Nuclear Energy Agency and the European Commission. Issues discussed include: stakeholder and public involvement in building and maintaining national radiation safety infrastructures; IAEA model projects and implementation experience; resources, services and quality assurance; sustainable education and training; authorisation, inspection and enforcement aspects and the independence of regulatory authorities; networking; performance evaluation; source security and emergency preparedness.
