The narrative intertwines the experiences of various riders, trainers, and volunteers, reflecting both real and fictional incidents in the healing journey of the author, who overcame a debilitating illness. Inspired by her work with an abused horse, she established a program that collaborates with mental health professionals and supports veterans and first responders. The initiative, Horses4heroes, invites horse owners and therapy stables to participate in providing therapeutic experiences for veterans, emphasizing the profound healing power of horses.
