Focusing on the period from 1300 to 1500, this study explores the evolving perceptions of witchcraft in early European courts, where witches were seen as heretics and Devil worshippers. It distinguishes between popular beliefs and scholarly interpretations of witchcraft, employing a unique methodology to evaluate various documents. This approach allows for a clearer understanding of the societal and intellectual currents that fueled the witch hunts during this transformative era.
